There are many benefits to joining FAMSACA, both personally and professionally, which include discounted or subsidised rates at conferences and educational courses, access to podcasts and online forums, and access to a network of skilled clinicians.
Discounted symposium fees and course fees
FAMSACA holds a two-day symposium every second year in which FAMSACA members are offered a discount on their registration fees.
FAMSACA is affiliated with the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health (ASHM)
http://ashm.org.au. ASHM run a number of educational courses and conferences related to sexual health, HIV medicine and viral hepatitis and FAMSACA members are able to access a discounted rate for all ASHM courses.
FAMSACA members will need to quote an affiliate code when registering for any ASHM course or conference.

Grants and Scholarships
FAMSACA members have access to a number of education grants and sponsorships. Each year FAMSACA offers up to ten (10) scholarships of up to $1500 each for members to further their study, attend educational courses, conferences or site visits in the area of sexual assault medicine and nursing.
Members will be notified of the opening and closing dates for these scholarships and grants via email. Please contact administration on info@famsacaustralia.org.au for any further information.

NEW MEMBERS
Who can join?
FAMSACA is a professional organisation for nurses and medical practitioners who practice in or have an interest in the area of sexual assault medicine. Registered nurses and medical practitioners are welcome to join.
Evidence of AHPRA registration must be provided on application. Non-practicing members are also welcome to join FAMSACA and may be eligible for a reduced membership fee.

New members
New applicants can apply for membership online. New members pay a once-off joining fee on $20 in addition to their membership fee of $60.
Your AHPRA registration number must be provided upon application of membership. If your registration cannot be verified then you will be contacted by administration and your fee will be refunded. A tax invoice for your payment will be generated upon receipt of membership fee.

Existing members
Existing members can renew their membership online. Memberships are to be renewed in July each year and run for the financial year. Members will be reminded via email when membership is due for renewal.
